The Millbrae Education Foundation (MEF) is a non-profit, volunteer organization devoted to raising money for the five schools in our district. The MEF is the only organization that can provide supplemental funding to hire teaching staff in Millbrae. The money we raise is used to hire certificated staff (credentialed teachers) and fund programs our kids need in the 21st century classroom. Last year, we raised $260,000 - over $100,000 more than we raised the year before, and that money is now funding….
- a new district-wide technology pro-gram which includes two full-time technology teachers.
- 4 hours of instructional aide time per day at our elementary schools
- a district-wide communication system.
Current projections are as uncertain as our state and federal budgets. Over the last few years we’ve seen $2 million in cuts in our small district—the effects of more cuts would be devastating without your support. But there is hope. The Millbrae Education Foundation is working with the Millbrae School Board, our superintendent, PTAs, teachers, and principals to raise the funds needed to help counteract these detrimental effects on our children.
