About MEF

Millbrae Education Foundation (MEF) is a non-profit, volunteer fundraising foundation made up of parents and volunteers dedicated to raising money to support the children of the Millbrae School District. Our sole purpose is to raise money to fund teachers, staff, and essential programs for the district. The MEF has raised and donated $394,000 since our founding in 2007, making it possible to re-hire necessary staff within our district.

During our last campaign (2010-2011) we raised $175,000, and your donations are funding four hours a day of instructional classroom aide time in our four elementary schools, and a full-time counselor at Taylor Middle School. These wonderful, devoted people are working for our children right now, thanks to your support and generosity.

Current projections are as uncertain as our state and federal budgets. Over the last few years we’ve seen $2 million in cuts in our small district—the effects of more cuts would be devastating without your support. But there is hope. The Millbrae Education Foundation is working with teachers, the superintendent and principals to raise the crucial monies needed to help counteract these detrimental effects on our children.
